SAMPLE – PRODUCT COMPLAINTS – WARRANTY DISPUTE
[ Time of contact. Ex."Three weeks ago", etc. ] I contacted you about warranty work on my [ product ]. [ Time of reply. Ex. "One week ago", etc. ] I received word from [ company name ] that [ Warranty problem. Ex. "the warranty is expired" ]. This is completely unacceptable.
[ Reasons for honoring warranty. Ex. " Six month ago, when I thought that the warranty was about to expire, I called your customer service line to extend the warranty, and was told that I was mistaken, and that the warranty was in force for another 18 months. Now that a problem his arisen, you tell me that your clerk was wrong, and there's nothing you can do..." ]
I have been a good customer of [company name], and I believe I deserve better service. I would like [ Your preferred action. Ex. " you to give me the benefit of the doubt and service my circular saw under the terms of the warranty, which according to you company should still be in effect. " ]. I think this is a very reasonable request. Please contact me and let me know what you will do. Keep in mind, your actions will demonstrate very clearly in what regard you hold my future business.
